Your music has been featured on major networks like NBC and CBS, and in programs such as "Olympic Games Tokyo," "Grand Crew," and "The Young and the Restless." What inspired you to pursue a career in music composition, songwriting, and production?

Kawaski Nelson: Music has always been an integral part of my life. From a young age, I was captivated by how melodies could evoke emotions and tell stories without words. This fascination led me to explore various genres and eventually pursue a career where I could create and share my own musical narratives.

Liz: Your collaborations include a diverse range of artists, such as MC Lyte, Murat Ses, Monkey Safari, and Fideles. How do you approach collaborating with artists from different countries and various genres?

Kawaski Nelson: I believe that music is a universal language, and each genre offers its own unique dialect. When collaborating, I immerse myself in the artist's style and vision, aiming to blend our perspectives and compatibility. The focus is on discovering shared values and creating something that resonates with everyone.

Liz: Your work has been featured in over 100 television shows and utilized by international brands like Roamer of Switzerland, GQ Japan, and Elle Taiwan. What do you think has been the key to your music's widespread appeal?

Kawaski Nelson: Versatility and authenticity are key. I strive to create unique music that resonates across different contexts and appeals to a variety of audiences.

Liz: As a member of The Recording Academy® and a BMI songwriter and publisher, you're an advocate for the rights of songwriters and composers. What advice would you give to those aspiring to enter the music industry?

Kawaski Nelson: Persistence and passion are essential. The music industry is ever evolving, and challenges are inevitable. However, if you're dedicated to your craft and continuously seek opportunities to learn and grow, your efforts will lead to success. Also, understanding the business side of music is vital to protect your rights and sustain your career.

Liz: Your journey is undoubtedly inspiring. What projects are you currently working on, and what can we expect from you in the near future?

Kawaski Nelson: I am currently creating content for streaming services, podcasts, and various other platforms. I'm excited to explore new mediums and continue pushing the limits of my creative expression. Stay tuned for upcoming projects!
